Welcome to my 2 new followers!

I have 24 followers now. (Of course this isn't counting the dozens of you that read and don't follow...ahem. Thank you Google Adsense!)

Welcome welcome WELCOME!

Watch out for that crazy one. She comments as mom/grandma. I don't know who she is...she came with the house. ;)

I would like to point out...

That I have posted three, THA-REE, days in a row.

That is all....carry on.

Tra la la

This is my Facebook status today. You can see my Twitter feed at the left that reflects something similar. Everything happens for a reason, yes? Everything happens on Gods time, yes? So why is it that something was placed in my lap today? Today of all days? I think I know the reason. Good thing God knows I have a thick skull AND HE'S GOING TO HAVE TO SHOUT.

Productivity!!

I FINALLY set myself up a small little office space today. I still need to hang a magnetic board on the wall and move a picture so it's centered above my bed. Maybe I'll start being a little more productive? (Hold your breath on that) :) I'll post pictures in the morning, it's too dark tonight.

Something else I learned today: EVERYONE'S a FREAKING COMEDIAN. ::coughmomandanitacough:: Do people seriously wonder why I'm such a smart ass? Or why I called my dresser a hooker today? Really? You do? You obviously haven't met my family. Either side.

I tried to get some pics tonight.

But Avery was more interested in this...

And this...

And even my poor excuse for grass at the moment...

It wasn't happening at dinner either...

Ugh. She wins.

Did I ever tell you

that I hate working night shift? Oh, I did? Ok then. Let me say it again. I HATE WORKING NIGHT SHIFT. Especially when Avery decides that a nap isn't on the agenda for today and I worked last night, tonight and the following night.

I know, I know I need to post some pics. Trust me I will as soon as I have a moment to breathe.

Why Bill O'Reilly is a douche.

Or made a douchey comment.

Have ya'll seen the preview for the new Jennifer Aniston movie? I'm no feminist but I love that Jennifer stood up for women that choose to go the parenting route alone. I jokingly refer to Avery's dad at "the sperm donor" (of course not in front of her, and I know I know, it has to stop) and I would like to think that I chose to be a single parent. You know, since he offered to pay to "take care of it" the day I found out I was pregnant. ::insert eye roll here::

Bill O'Reilly shot back with this: (from people.com) "Last week, on his Fox News show, The O'Reilly Factor, the host called the actress's comments "destructive to our society," and accused her of "diminishing the role of the dad."" Does he not think that men that don't step up to the plate are destructive to our society? How about men that lie about their identity to skip out on their responsibilities? Maybe the role of my child's dad wouldn't be diminished if HE WAS AROUND.

I'm not sure why this irritated me so much and yes, I know both my links were from People. What can I say, guilty pleasure. ;) Pile this on top of my irritation last night at the grocery store and I'm just itching to tell someone off. I took to twitter with my frustration last night.

"Dear lady at grocery, your eyes do not deceive you. My child is black (biracial), i am white. Take a picture. Signed, welcome to 2010"

Maybe I should have told her that, then the open mouth stare would have been validated.

(Two posts in one day???? INSANITY!!!) (Confession: I'm killing time waiting for Tosh.0 to come on. Did I tell ya'll that I love that show?) (Fact: I use ya'll way more than necessary, I blame it on my country upbringing.)

My dad can bake....WHAAAA??

In the last two weeks I have acquired a couple baked goods from my dad. Did ya'll know my dad could bake? His parents used to be Amish and mmmmmmmmmmmm. You haven't had good cookin until you try it!

Everyone tries to get a loaf of bread when my dad's making it. I GOT ONE this time! Woohoo! Today a half dozen home made cinnamon rolls were delivered. SO good! So NOT GOOD for my diet. I ate broccoli for dinner....

I'm no detective

Ya'll consider this your disclaimer. I'm about to talk about birth control. Are you squeamish? Are you my mother(s)? Does the word vagina scare you? Skip this post. Mkaythanks.

I have a Mirena IUD. I chose this method of birth control for a few reasons. 1.) cost, the IUD has already paid for itself compared to the pill. 2.)ease of use, I don't have to remember a pill everyday. 3.)it can easily be removed should I choose to have more children before the 5 years is up.

Since I had it placed in Jan of 2009 I haven't had a period. BONUS!!! This means between the Mirena, the pregnancy, and breast feeding I haven't had a period since March 2008. !!!!!!!!!! (Perhaps Tampax isn't pleased with that, you know, since I was a loyal user.)

For awhile I've felt like something is up with my body. It's been on going. I believe at one point I blogged about my over all exhaustion, my weight gain, etc. I had my thyroid level checked...normal. I was told by my doctor that sometimes after a pregnancy your body can almost reset itself and this could be the reason I don't need the thyroid medication at this time. I blame/blamed it on working night shift and I also believe this is a major contributing factor. However, after doing research, I think my IUD may also be to blame.

I read website after website today about women that have had major mood swings, weight gain (20lbs in 2 years, or 30lbs over 4 years, etc), major acne, migraines, leg tingling, etc. I also know two people personally that had the Mirena, hated it, and had it removed. To be fair, I also read a number of comments about women that LOVED their Mirena. And it HAS been great to not have to think about it for over a year.

Could this be a coincidence? Could my mood swings, weight gain, and lethargy among other things be blamed on the Mirena or is it just a chance thing? Are the hormones (even though they are low dose) be jacking with my system? Logically it makes more sense to me that it would be better to NOT have any synthetic hormones in my system. I'm worried about having my Mirena removed and discovering that isn't the culprit.

I don't NEED to have the birth control right now. That issue could be revisited if the need arose. Odds of that happening in the near future? Sadly, slim.

Do any of ya'll have experience with this?

It was a great day!

What a great birthday! Since, 1-didn't take a ton of pics (and only took the point and shoot) and 2-am too lazy to get them off the camera, I'll just tell you about it.

I woke up at 9:00 (!!!!) this morning to over 50 birthday wishes via facebook and text message. What a way to start a day! I got ready and did a quick check for any gray hairs (there were none...whew) and made breakfast for me and Avery. I woke her up, we ate, and left the house to head to the aquarium.

She.loved.it. It was so cute ooo-ing and aahh-ing over all the fish and frogs and turtles. She thought the "peety birdies" were funny. She wasn't interested in the alligators at all but LOVED the sharks. She got to pet a shark and a starfish. She kept yelling "SHARK" when we were in the tunnel and said "WOW" when one swam over us. At the end of our trip through the aquarium I stopped and bought a season pass for us so we can return whenever we want and she can see the "SHARKS"! We ate lunch and walked along the river for a bit. She fell asleep in the car on the way home. It was so adorable to see her sleeping with her mouth open.

We ordered pizza for dinner since I didn't feel like cooking. She kept saying "mahmee no no no GAPES (grapes)". She ate mostly grapes and little pizza for dinner.

The mailman brought me a GREAT present. My Sigma 70-300mm lens. Oooo. It's so PRETTY! I messed around with it a little bit tonight. I love it!

I think I had a fantastic birthday! So far, 26 isn't so bad.
